Replacement is possible. Refer to the company catalog, etc on which indicator is best suited for a specific model and replace only the indicator.

The electrical contact indicator is the c-contact.

What is product weight?

The filter leaks oil. How should this situation be handled?

Stop operation and verify the items below using the user’s manual.
・ Are defects such as cracks present in any parts?
・ Is the tightening torque for each part correct?
・ Is the seals (O-ring, packing) in good condition? If the above steps were followed with no defects  found and the leakage remains unchanged, please contact our company.

What are the design temperatures of the products? Also, what are the possible temperature specifications?

For standard products the design temperature is 90℃. It is possible to produce temperature specifications depending on the model and filtration.

What are the design pressures of the products?

Refer to the product information for each model. Also, please be sure the products do not exceed design pressure. Make sure that pressure fluctuations are included in the design pressure of the maximum usage pressure.

What are the element designs?

Is it a problem if I want to install the filter sideways?

Use the filter in the same direction as seen in the diagrams and catalogs.

Is it a problem if I want to install the filter upside down?

Use the filter in the same direction as seen in diagrams and catalogs.

What kinds of fluids are supported? What are the models?

Is there a filter for water?

The SFG suction strainer can be used with water.

Can I change the filtration of a filter if I choose?

Replacement is possible. Refer to the company catalog, etc. on which element is best suited for a specific model and replace only the element. However, be aware of the following items.
■If filtration is fine: Since more dust is trapped, the service life of the element tends to shorten.
■If filtration is coarse: Since dust is not trapped as often, there is a possibility of causing damage to the equipment.

I want to change the flow direction of the filter. Would this be a problem?

With our products, the flow direction is set and they do not work in the opposite direction. If fluid flows in the opposite direction, element efficiency drops, the indicator/relief valves do not function normally, and the element may be damaged, which could lead to peripheral equipment damage.
■UL, UM, UH type filters UL, UM, UH type filters are capable of reverse flow direction by rotating the upper cover 180° .

Can the refill port breather be used with water-glycol oil?

Only the FU type refill port breather supports water-glycol oil. (The model is G-FU-50/G-FU-75.)

What is element material quality?

Refer to “Element design.

The element is newly changed but indicator activates immediately. Why?

The indicator is a mechanism that detects pressure throughout the element. Indicator activation means that differential pressure throughout the element increases for some reason. The main causes are as follows.
■The element is clogged.
The most common cause is in fact element clogging. The dust on the element surface may not be able to be detected visually, particularly with the use of 3C, 8C fine elements. Also, when used oil is replaced with new oil, the dust mixing that occurs due to the condition of the new oil and the oil refill method may cause the element to clog.
■High oil viscosity
Low ambient temperature at startup, etc. and high viscosity may activate the indicator. In this case, if operation continues for a while, the indicator will restore.
■The installation of an element different from the previous model
When an element is installed whose filtration is more fine that the previous installed model, the element may clog at an early stage.

What will happen by installing the upper covers of the UL, UM, and UH type filters in the opposite direction of the flow direction?

With our products, the flow direction is set and they do not work in the opposite direction. If fluid flows in the opposite direction, element efficiency drops, the indicator/relief valves do not function normally, and the element may be damaged, which could lead to peripheral equipment damage. Note during installation that the flow direction corresponds to the arrow on the upper cover.

About heat exchangers

Is it safe to reverse the shell and tube heat exchanger inlet/outlet ports?

Shell side (oil side) and tube side (water side) are not compatible with each other.
■Shell side
・ 2 passes, 4 passes heat exchanger have reversible inlet/outlet ports
・ Regular performance cannot be demonstrated for 1 passes.
■Tube side
・To prevent efficiency loss due to air accumulation within the heat exchanger, flow from the lower side to the upper side is standard. If there is a condition where this point can be disregarded, then reverse flow direction is possible.
・ Regular performance cannot be demonstrated for 1 passes.

Is it safe to reverse the air-cooled oil cooler inlet/outlet ports?

To prevent efficiency loss due to air accumulation within the heat exchanger, flow from the lower side to the upper side is standard. If there is a condition where this point can be disregarded, then reverse flow direction is possible.

Would it be a problem if I want to stand the heat exchanger?

The heat exchanger is designed to be positioned horizontally. If the heat exchanger is positioned vertically, the air release and drain release functions will not work properly, resulting in a possible loss of efficiency due to air accumulation. If there is a condition where this point can be disregarded, then the heat exchanger can be positioned vertically.

Would there be a problem if I want to set up the heat exchanger upside down?

The heat exchanger is designed to be positioned horizontally. If the heat exchanger is positioned upside down, the air release and drain release functions would not work properly, resulting in a possible loss of efficiency due to air accumulation. If there is a condition where this point can be disregarded, then the heat exchanger can be positioned upside down.

What are the design temperatures for products? Also, are high temperature specifications possible?

For standard products the design temperature is as below.
■Shell side: 90℃
■Tube side: 60℃
